MedicalRide Provider Status & Verification Standards
MedicalRide.org helps patients, caregivers, families, and healthcare facilities discover and contact independent medical transportation providers.
This page explains how provider listings are created, what MedicalRide provider statuses mean, how our verification process works, and what customers should confirm directly before arranging transportation.
MedicalRide is a technology platform operated by Tipmunk SASU.
MedicalRide does not operate transportation vehicles or employ the independent providers appearing on the platform.
Provider statuses
MedicalRide may display different provider statuses depending on the provider’s relationship with the platform and the information available to MedicalRide.
Public-source / Unclaimed listing
A public-source listing is a provider that MedicalRide identified using publicly available information or independent directory research.
Information may come from sources such as:
- Provider websites
- Public business profiles
- Business directories
- Publicly available company information
- Public service descriptions
- Other reasonably available sources
A public-source listing does not mean that the provider:
- Joined MedicalRide
- Created the listing
- Approved the listing
- Has a contractual relationship with MedicalRide
- Has been verified by MedicalRide
Customers should confirm current information directly with the provider.
Providers can contact MedicalRide to claim eligible listings, correct information, provide additional information, or request review of a listing.
Member / Enrolled provider
A Member or Enrolled provider has directly joined or enrolled with MedicalRide and supplied information about its business, services, contact details, coverage area, or transportation capabilities.
Enrollment establishes a direct relationship between the provider and the MedicalRide platform.
MedicalRide may review provider-supplied information together with reasonably available public information and marketplace signals.
Membership or enrollment does not mean that MedicalRide guarantees or independently certifies the provider’s:
- Licensing
- Insurance
- Safety
- Availability
- Pricing
- Service quality
- Vehicles
- Drivers
- Performance
- Suitability for a particular passenger
Independent providers remain responsible for their own information and services.
Verified provider
A Verified provider has completed MedicalRide enrollment and supplied documentation requested as part of MedicalRide’s verification process.
Depending on the provider, jurisdiction, services offered, and information reasonably available, documentation reviewed may include:
- Business registration information
- Transportation or operating licences
- Commercial insurance documentation
- Vehicle-related documentation
- Other provider-supplied compliance information
MedicalRide uses reasonable, good-faith and best-effort processes to review the documentation supplied and, where practical, compare relevant information against other available information.
Verified status means that MedicalRide received the documentation requested for the applicable review and completed its internal best-effort review based on the information available at that time.
Verified status does not mean that MedicalRide:
- Certifies the provider
- Guarantees the authenticity of every document
- Conducts a government licensing inspection
- Continuously monitors every licence or insurance policy
- Guarantees that information remains current
- Accredits the provider
- Insures the provider
- Guarantees any particular vehicle or driver
- Guarantees the provider’s services
MedicalRide is not a government regulator, licensing authority, insurer, accreditation organisation, or transportation operator.
Licences, insurance policies, registrations, vehicles, drivers, personnel, and operating authority can change or expire after a review.
Customers should confirm current information relevant to their trip directly with the provider.
What MedicalRide may consider
Depending on the provider and status level, MedicalRide may consider information such as:
- Company identity and contact-information consistency
- Advertised service areas
- Transportation capabilities
- Provider-supplied information
- Public ratings and review patterns
- Publicly available reputation information
- Feedback received through MedicalRide
- Provider responsiveness
- Documentation provided by the provider
- Material corrections or concerns reported to MedicalRide
MedicalRide does not represent that all of these checks are performed for every provider or every listing.
No single document, review, complaint, rating, or marketplace interaction determines a provider’s overall suitability.
What MedicalRide status does not mean
No MedicalRide provider status should be understood as:
- A guarantee of safety
- A government certification
- An accreditation
- A guarantee of service quality
- A medical recommendation
- A guarantee of availability
- A guarantee of pricing
- A guarantee that all provider information remains current
- A guarantee that a particular driver or vehicle meets every requirement
- A guarantee of arrival time
- A guarantee of trip completion
- A guarantee of customer satisfaction
Provider statuses are informational signals intended to help users understand the information MedicalRide has available about a provider.
What customers should confirm
Before arranging or accepting transportation, customers should confirm information important to their specific trip directly with the provider.
Depending on the transportation need, this may include:
- Current business licence or operating authority
- Current commercial insurance
- Appropriate vehicle type
- Wheelchair accessibility
- Stretcher capability
- Bariatric capability
- Stair assistance
- Transfer assistance
- Equipment requirements
- Driver qualifications

- Destination accessibility
- Exact date and pickup time
- Provider availability
- Total price

- Deposits or prepayment
- Waiting-time charges
- Additional-mileage charges
- Cancellation and rescheduling terms
- Return-trip arrangements
Customers should also communicate any medical, mobility, accessibility, behavioural, equipment, or assistance requirements that may affect the transportation.
Independent-provider responsibility
Transportation providers appearing on MedicalRide are independent businesses.
Providers remain responsible for their own:
- Licensing
- Operating authority
- Insurance
- Vehicles and equipment
- Drivers and personnel
- Training
- Background-check practices
- Pricing
- Payment terms
- Scheduling
- Customer communications
- Transportation performance
- Legal and regulatory compliance
MedicalRide facilitates provider discovery, structured transportation requests, comparison, communication, and marketplace coordination.
MedicalRide does not replace the provider’s professional responsibilities or the customer’s responsibility to confirm that a provider is appropriate for the requested transportation.
Ratings, feedback, and complaints
MedicalRide may consider public ratings, public reviews, marketplace activity, and feedback received through the platform.
These signals may be incomplete, outdated, disputed, or unrelated to the specific transportation service required.
A single complaint or negative review does not automatically establish wrongdoing.
However, MedicalRide may review serious concerns or repeated patterns and may, in its discretion, correct information, change a provider status, request additional information, suspend a listing, or remove a listing.
Corrections and status changes
Providers and users may report information believed to be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete by contacting:
Where possible, include:
- Provider name
- MedicalRide profile URL
- Information believed to be inaccurate
- Corrected information
- Supporting details or documentation
MedicalRide will use reasonable best-effort processes to review submitted corrections based on the information reasonably available.
MedicalRide may update, relabel, suspend, or remove a listing when appropriate.
Emergency and medical disclaimer
MedicalRide is intended for non-emergency transportation discovery and coordination.
MedicalRide does not provide medical advice and does not determine the clinically appropriate level of transportation.
For a medical emergency, call 911 or the applicable local emergency number.
Questions about whether a passenger requires an ambulance, medical monitoring, clinical personnel, or another level of transportation should be directed to an appropriate healthcare professional.
