How MedicalRide Builds and Maintains Its Provider Directory

MedicalRide.org maintains a directory designed to help patients, caregivers, families, healthcare facilities, and other users discover independent medical transportation providers that may serve their location and transportation needs.

This page explains where MedicalRide provider information comes from, how directory and location information may be generated, and how we work to maintain and improve the accuracy of the information displayed.

MedicalRide uses reasonable, good-faith and best-effort processes. Because provider information and operating conditions can change, MedicalRide does not guarantee that every directory entry is complete, current, or error-free.

Where provider information comes from

MedicalRide provider information may be obtained from several sources.

These may include:

  • Information submitted directly by providers
  • Provider enrollment information
  • Provider websites
  • Publicly available business profiles
  • Public directories
  • Public business information
  • Direct communications with providers
  • Provider responses to transportation requests
  • MedicalRide marketplace activity
  • User-submitted updates or corrections
  • Other information reasonably available to MedicalRide

MedicalRide may combine information from multiple sources when creating or maintaining a provider profile.

Public-source provider listings

Some providers appearing in the MedicalRide directory are identified through publicly available information.

These listings help users discover potentially relevant transportation providers, including providers that have not yet enrolled with MedicalRide.

A public-source listing does not mean that the provider created, approved, claimed, or verified its MedicalRide profile.

It also does not mean the provider has a business relationship with MedicalRide.

MedicalRide identifies these listings separately from enrolled and verified providers.

Providers may contact MedicalRide to claim an eligible listing, request corrections, provide additional information, or request review of their listing.

Provider-supplied information

Providers that enroll with MedicalRide may supply information such as:

  • Company name
  • Contact details
  • Business location
  • Service areas
  • Transportation types
  • Vehicle capabilities
  • Mobility accommodations
  • Availability
  • Service descriptions
  • Pricing information
  • Documentation requested for verification

Provider-supplied information remains the responsibility of the provider.

MedicalRide may review this information for consistency, completeness, and obvious discrepancies, but does not guarantee that every provider representation is independently verified.

How location and service pages are created

MedicalRide organises provider and transportation information across geographic and service-specific pages to make it easier for users to find potentially relevant options.

These pages may use structured information such as:

  • Provider service areas
  • Provider locations
  • Cities and postal areas
  • Geographic relationships
  • Transportation categories
  • Mobility requirements
  • Facility information
  • Local availability signals
  • Provider density
  • Service coverage information
  • Other geographic or marketplace data

Some information may be generated or organised using automated systems.

Automation allows MedicalRide to process large amounts of structured provider and geographic information consistently.

MedicalRide may also apply automated quality checks, validation rules, data filters, and other internal processes before information is displayed or made eligible for search indexing.

Automated processing does not guarantee that every individual data point is accurate or current.

Derived and calculated information

Some information displayed by MedicalRide may be calculated rather than directly supplied by a provider.

Examples may include:

  • Approximate distance
  • Nearby provider relationships
  • Geographic service-area matching
  • City or postal-area coverage
  • Provider counts
  • Service availability indicators
  • Related locations
  • Local transportation options

Calculated information may be based on provider-supplied information, public geographic data, structured datasets, or internal matching methods.

Distances and geographic relationships should be understood as informational estimates unless specifically confirmed by the provider.

How MedicalRide reviews information

MedicalRide uses reasonable best-effort processes intended to improve the usefulness and consistency of its directory.

Depending on the information available, these processes may include:

  • Checking whether business information is internally consistent
  • Comparing information across available sources
  • Reviewing provider-supplied updates
  • Detecting incomplete or conflicting information
  • Reviewing service-area information
  • Applying automated quality rules
  • Reviewing correction requests
  • Reviewing material complaints or concerns
  • Updating provider status when appropriate
  • Removing or suppressing information when appropriate

MedicalRide does not represent that every listing is manually reviewed or independently verified.

The level of review varies depending on the provider’s status, information available, and the nature of the listing.

How provider statuses help users understand the directory

MedicalRide distinguishes between different provider statuses.

Public-source / Unclaimed

Information was identified using publicly available sources or MedicalRide research.

The provider has not necessarily joined or approved the listing.

Member / Enrolled

The provider enrolled directly with MedicalRide and supplied business or service information.

Verified

The provider enrolled with MedicalRide, supplied documentation requested for the applicable verification process, and MedicalRide completed its applicable best-effort documentation review.

Verified status does not constitute government certification, accreditation, or a guarantee.

For the full definitions, see MedicalRide Provider Status & Verification Standards.

Keeping directory information current

Transportation businesses can change over time.

Providers may:

  • Change service areas
  • Add or remove vehicles
  • Stop offering particular transportation types
  • Change phone numbers or addresses
  • Change operating hours
  • Change pricing
  • Renew or change insurance
  • Renew or change licences
  • Cease operations

MedicalRide may update information based on provider submissions, public information, marketplace activity, user reports, or other information reasonably available to us.

MedicalRide does not continuously monitor every provider or every public information source.

Accordingly, users should confirm important information directly with the provider.

Corrections from providers and users

MedicalRide encourages providers and users to report information that may be inaccurate or outdated.

To request a correction, email:

support@medicalride.org

Where possible, include:

  • Provider name
  • MedicalRide page URL
  • Information believed to be inaccurate
  • Corrected information
  • Supporting information or documentation

MedicalRide will review reasonable correction requests using the information available to us.

A correction request does not automatically require MedicalRide to accept a particular representation, but we will use reasonable best-effort processes to evaluate the information submitted.

Directory information is informational

MedicalRide's directory is intended to assist provider discovery and transportation planning.

Directory inclusion should not be interpreted as:

  • A recommendation
  • An endorsement
  • A government certification
  • A guarantee of licensing
  • A guarantee of insurance
  • A guarantee of availability
  • A guarantee of safety
  • A guarantee of service quality
  • A guarantee of pricing
  • A guarantee of suitability for a particular passenger

Independent providers remain responsible for their own business operations and transportation services.

Customers remain responsible for confirming important information directly with the provider before arranging transportation.

Our goal

MedicalRide's goal is to make medical transportation discovery more transparent, efficient, and easier to compare.

We use structured data, provider information, public information, marketplace activity, geographic information, and user corrections to build a useful directory while clearly distinguishing between information we discover, information providers supply, and information reviewed through our verification process.

Where information is uncertain or changes, MedicalRide uses reasonable best-effort processes to review and update it.

Questions or corrections can be sent to support@medicalride.org.
