How it works
- Submit the trip brief. Provide the pickup, destination, travel date, timing, ride type and assistance needs. Use your own reply email if coordinating on someone’s behalf.
- We review the details. We check whether more information is needed before contacting suitable providers. Unclear addresses or incomplete requirements can be clarified without submitting a new request.
- Receive provider quotes. Available providers may respond with pricing, transport details and conditions. Compare what is included and ask about anything that remains unclear.
- Confirm the chosen option. The patient or authorized representative chooses how to proceed. Confirm availability, suitability, final price and booking terms with the selected provider.
What transport can you request?
Wheelchair transportation
For trips requiring a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Include the chair type and whether the passenger will remain seated in it.
Stretcher transportation
For someone who needs to travel lying flat. Include transfer and access requirements so providers can review the appropriate vehicle, equipment and staffing.
Hospital discharge and facility transfers
Share the pickup location, destination, expected readiness time and assistance needed at each end.
Long-distance transportation
Request quotes for longer ground journeys. Include timing flexibility, companions and any requirements that may affect the route or crew.
Ambulatory and bariatric transportation
Describe the seating, walking assistance, equipment and relevant capacity requirements so providers can assess whether they can help.
Coverage and availability depend on the route and passenger’s requirements. A listed service type does not guarantee an available provider.

Details that help providers quote accurately
Include the pickup and destination, date and local-time window, ride type, assistance needs and a reply email. Add stairs, elevator access, wheelchair or stretcher requirements, relevant equipment and accompanying passengers when applicable.
If something is not confirmed, say so. We may need to clarify it before seeking quotes. Only share personal or health-related information needed to arrange the transportation and authorized for that purpose.

Can an AI assistant request transport quotes on someone’s behalf?
Yes, with permission from the person or their authorized representative. The requester must be able to receive questions and updates and must have authorization for the necessary information sharing.
Do I have to select an address from Google Maps suggestions?
No. This page accepts typed or pasted addresses. If the location is unclear, we’ll ask for clarification before proceeding.
Can I use the assistant’s email address?
Yes. Use an email address the assistant or coordinator can access for follow-up. A phone number is optional on this page.
Do I need an API connection?
No. You can use this page’s form or email. Platform developers can request API credentials.
Will I receive an instant confirmed price?
Provider quotes depend on the route, timing, requirements and available responses. Any estimate is separate from a provider-confirmed quote. Submitting a request does not reserve a vehicle.
What should I check in a quote?
Check the provider, total price, currency, included and excluded fees, assistance, equipment, cancellation terms and any conditions. Ask whether tolls, waiting, after-hours charges and additional travel are included.
Does MedicalRide provide the transportation?
Independent transportation companies provide the rides. MedicalRide helps coordinate quote requests and provider responses.
Is this for insurance-covered transportation?
MedicalRide handles private-pay requests and does not bill insurance, Medicaid or Medicare.
Can I request emergency transportation?
No. This service is for non-emergency transportation. Contact local emergency services for a medical emergency.
