Will selecting several options create several requests?
No. They remain under one parent request and one tracking page. An eligible provider may return distinct proposals for the categories it has been invited to quote.
Planned patient travel · independent provider options
The right question is not simply which flight costs less. It is which proposed arrangement can meet the patient’s assessed requirements throughout the journey. Use one request to explore several service categories, with distinct provider proposals.
Free request. No account or card. Provider review, operating permissions and availability must be confirmed. For emergencies, contact local emergency services.
A scheduled airline escort, an approved airline stretcher, private charter with clinicians and a dedicated air ambulance are not interchangeable labels. Each has its own cabin arrangements, staffing, equipment, acceptance process and operating constraints.
Non-medical companions provide a separate, non-clinical service. Planned helicopter transfers require individual operational review and are not emergency rescue or dispatch through MedicalRide.
Provide the actual pickup and receiving locations, dates or flexibility, mobility and broad requested support. Select all options you want providers to explore, or choose Not sure so the request can be reviewed before providers are contacted.
A hospital, home or receiving facility may be far from the most practical airport. Discuss ground transfers, waiting periods, clinical continuity and handoffs as part of the same journey rather than planning only the flight segment.
One provider may offer more than one category. Compare each proposal’s service type, total and currency, crew, equipment, included travel, transfers and unresolved costs. An estimate may depend on assessment or final travel dates.
You can express interest in more than one provider. Interest does not book a flight or create a charge. Confirm final arrangements directly with the selected company and report an actual booking so further outreach can stop.
| Option | What it describes | What needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial flight with medical escort | A qualified medical professional accompanies the patient on a scheduled airline. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Commercial airline stretcher | An airline-approved stretcher arrangement with appropriately qualified medical support—not an ordinary lie-flat seat. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Private jet with medical escort | Private charter with accompanying medical staff; not necessarily a medically configured air ambulance. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Dedicated air ambulance — jet or turboprop | A medically configured aircraft and clinical crew, subject to operator review and availability. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Non-medical flight companion | Travel navigation and personal assistance without clinical care or medical supervision. | Non-clinical scope, assistance limits and handoff plan |
| Planned helicopter medical transfer | A planned, coordinated medical transfer requiring individual review. Not emergency dispatch or rescue. | Non-emergency case review, suitable landing arrangements and authorized operator |
| Ground travel with a medical escort | A qualified medical professional accompanies the patient by road. For a vehicle ride with mobility assistance only, use the separate ground transport intake. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
