Can MedicalRide give an instant confirmed air ambulance price?
No. Independent providers must review the actual journey and support requirements. Submit once to seek relevant proposals; availability and final price remain subject to confirmation.
Planned patient travel · independent provider options
There is no single air ambulance price for a distance or country pair. The useful number is a written proposal for the actual patient, dates, clinical scope and complete journey. MedicalRide helps you request and compare those proposals.
Free request. No account or card. Provider review, operating permissions and availability must be confirmed. For emergencies, contact local emergency services.
The aircraft may need to position from another base before collecting the patient and continue elsewhere afterward. Different aircraft, medical configurations and crews can change the proposed cost even when the passenger route is identical.
A date change can alter aircraft positioning or crew planning. Ask whether the quote is firm, indicative or subject to a further assessment, and which assumptions would trigger a revised price.
List each required item as included, excluded, additional or unknown. A price that omits the destination ambulance is not directly comparable with a bedside-to-bedside package. Do not add an inclusion again when it is already inside the provider’s total.
Keep currencies separate unless you have an explicit conversion basis. Payment schedules, quote validity, cancellation costs and changes after assessment also belong in the comparison. An advertised range is neither a live quotation nor a guaranteed ceiling.
Some families explore commercial escort or an airline-approved stretcher alongside dedicated aircraft proposals. These are different services with different operating constraints; the clinical and airline assessment comes before a price-led decision.
Use our existing escort-versus-air-ambulance guide to compare actual written totals and confirmed extras. It does not estimate a dedicated aircraft price from an airline fare or decide fitness to travel.
| Option | What it describes | What needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial flight with medical escort | A qualified medical professional accompanies the patient on a scheduled airline. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Commercial airline stretcher | An airline-approved stretcher arrangement with appropriately qualified medical support—not an ordinary lie-flat seat. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Private jet with medical escort | Private charter with accompanying medical staff; not necessarily a medically configured air ambulance. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Dedicated air ambulance — jet or turboprop | A medically configured aircraft and clinical crew, subject to operator review and availability. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
| Non-medical flight companion | Travel navigation and personal assistance without clinical care or medical supervision. | Non-clinical scope, assistance limits and handoff plan |
| Planned helicopter medical transfer | A planned, coordinated medical transfer requiring individual review. Not emergency dispatch or rescue. | Non-emergency case review, suitable landing arrangements and authorized operator |
| Ground travel with a medical escort | A qualified medical professional accompanies the patient by road. For a vehicle ride with mobility assistance only, use the separate ground transport intake. | Clinical scope, equipment, operator or airline acceptance and actual availability |
